Answer:
The table shows the subway systems in London, Paris, Tokyo, Kyoto, Washington DC and Los Angeles.
In terms of the date that the underground railway is opened, the differences are obvious. To be specific, the two European cities, London and Paris, opened the system the earliest, which were in 1863 and 1900 respectively, followed by Tokyo, Washington DC and Kyoto, in 1927, 1976 and 1981. Los Angeles is the newest city to open this system which was in the year 2001.
London’s railway system is the oldest, the route is the longest, with 394 kilometers. In contrast, Kyoto and Los Angeles has the shortest route, with 11 and 28 respectively. Paris, Tokyo and Washington DC have a medium-sized system.
When it comes to the passengers the underground railway has transported, the data also shows significant differences. Tokyo transported, the largest number of people, reaching 1927 million. Paris came next, at 1191 million, almost a half of that in Tokyo. Kyoto and Los Angeles, which are the newest underground railway system, lied last, delivering 45 and 50 million passengers respectively.
Overall, the subway systems in different districts vary a lot.
